Architectural Modelling

This is the second module in the 3D Modelling Course.

This is designed to use the 3D modelling tools and commands to create a project. In this section you will learn about the workflow.

We can apply the tools we have learned to create an architectural model. We can model a building without using walls, roofs, doors, or windows.

We can use the tools we’ve learned like extrude, protrusion, shell solid, add solid, and so on. This exercise will show you how to use modeling tools to quickly create a building. There is always more than one way to create 3D models.

Creating Openings and Windows

In this exercise you will learn how to use Automatic Working Planes to create openings, and use the extract tool to create the windows and doors.

Creating Doors and Windows

In this exercise you will learn how to use the Extract tool, Extrude and Mirror to create doors and windows for the project.

Using Standard Doors

In this exercise you will learn how you can use standard Vectorworks doors and use them to help with the design. You will also learn to use basic 3D concepts to create a pergola (roof framing) over the entry.

Creating More Windows

In this exercise you will learn how to use basic drawing techniques to accurately place the windows in the design.

Finishing the Model

In this exercise you will learn how to use the techniques you know (extract, extrude, taper face) to create the roofs, foundations, ground, and placing a light source for the project.

Creating Drawings

In this exercise, you will learn how to create plans, sections, elevations and perspective views of the project.
