Podcast 213 – Test Yourself Exercise – 5

Chapter 5 was all about organizing information in Vectorworks. It is very important to learn how to use design layers, classes, sheet layers and viewports to create drawings. These concepts are extremely powerful and a fundamental to using Vectorworks effectively. In this exercise you should open up the test file and create the drawing shown.

In order to create this drawing you will have to make viewports and place these viewports accurately on a sheet layer. You will also have to annotate the viewports and check the viewport settings for the layers and classes. if you want to try this exercise, download the file from this link…

How did you get on? If you found this difficult, go back to Chapter 5 and work through the exercises again. It might seem laborious to go back through these exercises, but this is a very important part of Vectorworks and you will use these concepts on almost every project to create your drawings.
