Dimensions in 3D. 3-D dimensions are really only possible in Vectorworks 2012. The reason for this is the Vectorworks 2012 onwards dimensions are considered to be planar objects. This allows you to place a dimension of an object in 3-D and have the dimensions display correctly.

Another change that they made to Vectorworks 2012 was the ability for the circle and arc dimensioning tool to recognize the curves inside 3-D objects. Previously if you tried to use the circle dimensioning tool on extrusion Vectorworks would report an error. In the future Vectorworks will recognize the curve inside the 3-D extrusion and you can use your dimensioning tools on these curves.
