• Architect Special Interest Group February 2018 (am)

In this session, we created a recession plane, modified slab components to work with a brick-clad wall, modeled a slab edge, imported a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet into Vectorworks, changed the rendering of Gable Walls, and discussed how to transfer preferred settings from one section to another.

  • Interactive Workshops February 2018 – Creating Site Models

A site model is a 2D and 3D representation of a mathematical model that is based on 3D data. In simple terms, a site model is a 3D digital version of your site. You can use it for visualization, solar studies, cut and fill calculations, and much more. These sessions…

  • Landscape Special Interest Group November 2017 am

In this session, we briefly looked at counting impermeable surfaces, showed how to work with stepped site modifiers on a site model, and created a fence with columns instead of posts.

  • Landscape Special Interest Group April (pm) 2017

In this session, we looked at retaining walls again. We used a site modifier in contour mode to create a straight retaining wall. We then adjusted the grade limits to change the retaining wall into a battered slope between the two levels of the garden, adding rocks, steps, and a…

  • Landscape Special Interest Group April (am) 2017

In this session, we looked at creating a retaining wall area, selecting model snapshots, cut and fill calculations, site model sections, creating pads from grade limits, and creating grade limits from pads.

  • Getting Started Special Interest Group April 2017

In this session, we looked at a landscape plan that included plans and 3D views. We looked in detail at how we could create the drawing, how we should use design layers and classes, and how these relate to landscape drawings, creating a site model, and detailing…. I’m sorry, this content…...

  • Vectorworks Tip Retaining Wall

You can create a retaining wall on a site model by using a couple of site modifiers. They can be pads or contours. The important part is to make sure that you use a grade limit to control the extent of the site mode change.

  • 1702_02 – Creating Drawings for A Landscape Project – Intermediate Topics

The previous section was all about beginner topics, which everyone should know. This section is all about the intermediate topics that you will need to know in order to create your drawings from the 3D model. This section will be about how the 3D parts of the design work.

  • Architect Special Interest Group February 2017 (pm)

In this session we looked at site modifies on a particular we looked at site modify conflicts. There are different reasons why site modifies might conflict with each other and we created examples where we could look at these problems and what the result was on the site model. In general…
