As I noted earlier, there are a few different ways to create the information we need to create the site model. We will use a combination of tracing over the contours and placing spot levels.

One of the challenges with a site model is that if you want to use the site model for height to boundary calculations (or recession planes), the site model has to have information outside the boundaries of  the site. So, when we trace over the contours we will want to extend the contours outside the site, using the contours on the plan as a guide.
