Continuing on with last month’s project, we looked at using Vectorworks’ Wall Framer, creating a truss roof, adding a new tool to Vectorworks, creating a truss roof using a 3D object and adding prices to materials to get a total cost.

In previous versions of Vectorworks, you were unable to tell Vectorworks where in the wall you should put the wall framing.

Wall Framing. In previous versions, Vectorworks did not recognize the core part of the wall. This made the wall framer unusable unless if you removed all the wall components.
Framing and Framing Tools. This manual will be looking at the framing tools and commands that are available in Vectorworks.
Creating Bearers. You can use the Joists From Poly command to create the bearers, and it would be quick, but I also want to highlight the fact that you can create any framing member that you require.
