Vectorworks has a Roof Framing command that is designed to create framing members for a roof (which I covered some time ago). You can also use this to create framing for roof faces. When I create roof faces I tend to be sloppy about the pitch line of the roof face (provided that it looks OK), but this has an affect on the creation of the framing. thanks for this but now i am curiouse how the shrek we learn about the commands adjustment to get the rafters to fit eveytime on the first run….
than breaking out from the regular shapes like in your second example..the solution how to match up the length for rafters to the shape….possible to cut up the roof face shape into three parts and breakdown the larger surface into smaller ones….
