BIM_SIG_042 Architect Special Interest Group March 2014 (pm)

This session looked in detail at a few topics, particularly to do with graphics. In previous sessions we have looked at the Attributes Palette and in this session we looked at the connection between classes and graphics.

Topics Covered:

  • using the attributes palette to set the default attributes
  • using the Attributes palette to make all attributes by class
  • creating a new class for 0.10 lines (black), setting the graphic attributes
  • creating a new class for 0.18 lines (red), setting the graphic attributes
  • when assigning an object to the class, it will take up the graphic style of the class
  • the class controls the Attributes palette
  • creating a new class for 0.25 (magenta), setting the graphic style of the class
  • creating a new class for 0.35 (cyan), setting the graphic style of the class
  • creating a new class for 0.50 (green), setting the graphic style of the class
  • standard AutoCAD colors
  • when to use the class line styles on plans, details and elevations
  • creating a utility palette for quickly recalling the line classes using Custom Tool/Attribute
