epodcast166 – Creating a Demolished Window
When you’re using a standard window in Vectorworks you can create a window that shows that it has been demolished, and that it has an area of proposed wall to go with it.

When you use the standard Vectorworks window, you have the option to use symbol geometry. This option allows you to create a window symbol with a part of wall that will infill the demolished window. You can use the same technique for doors.

Very nice idea. Much better graphic than just deleting the window and drawing a patterned rectangle in its place.
I tried this technique with a door but it centers the group in the wall rather than aligning the wall portions. Can I correct this?
this could be due to the insertion point of the symbol. The insertion point of the symbol will be in the centre of the wall, so if you edit the symbol, you can adjust the position of the objects relative to the insertion point, by moving them.
