Most of the image props you create in Vectorworks will not accept shadows. Normally, you do not see this. But sometimes I get asked how to get shadows to appear on the image props, normally plants. To get shadows to appear, you need to edit the texture that is assigned to the image prop.

  • Go to the Resource Browser.
  • Locate the texture for the image prop. Make sure you are looking at the texture, not the image prop symbol.
  • Right Click.
  • Choose Edit…

  • This opens the Edit Texture dialog box.
  • Click on the pop-up menu for Reflectivity.
  • Choose None.
  • Click on the OK button.

When you render the scene again, the plants should have shadows.
