General Notes in Vectorworks
I had a question today form a client wanting to know if she can use the general notes tool to create general notes with bullet points rather than the numbers that are so common.
I do not know an easy way to substitute the bullet points for the numbers, but you can ungroup the general notes after you have made them.

- Create the general notes in the normal way, using your database to fill in all the notes you want.
- Change the order using the Move Up and Move Down buttons.
- Click on the OK button to finish.
The General notes are a complete group of notes. you can not edit the individual notes without opening the control dialog box. General notes use numbers, there aren’t any controls for the numbers.
To remove the numbers, you will have to ungroup the general notes.
- Go to the Menu bar.
- Choose Modify > Ungroup.
Now you have a set of text blocks. In my example, I ended up with 15 text blocks.
Edit one of the numbers to replace the number with a bullet point. On the macintosh the bullet point is Option+8.
Change all the numbers to bullet points.
Please remember, the notes are no longer linked to the note database. Any changes you make in the note database will not be reflected in your notes.
