Creating an Asset Database (Facilities Management) In this workshop we will learn how to make objects into symbols. Then we will learn how you can attach information to the objects.
As well as creating an asset database, you can use the same techniques to create a special plant database that can record the date planted, when it needs pruning and so on.
Making the report is straight forward. VectorWorks has a command that will do a lot of the work for you. After we have made the report, we can sort the report by room, by date, by type and so on.

Linking Text to Record. This will connect the database to the symbol.
Attaching the Database to the Symbol. We have made the database, and we have made the symbol, but they are not connected. The next step is to connect the two parts together.
