To make menus easier to read you should add a separator to your menus. The separator allows you to divide your menu into readable chunks.
Your workspace might have several commands that you do not want to use. You can remove any commands that are no longer useful.
If you add a keyboard shortcut to your menu items, you can then usual keyboard to activate the command. This makes a lot quicker to activate regularly used commands.
After you have added a menu to your workspace, you can add commands to that menu.
