    After you have imported a DXF/DWG file, you can then edit the information to make it easier to work in Vectorworks. Many DXF/DWG files do not have polylines all polygons. Generally, they have lots of lines and  arcs.  Vectorworks is more useful if you combine the lines and arcs together.

    Importing a survey plan seems easy, and it is. But, there are several choices you can make. If you make the right choices at this point your import should go well, if you let VectorWorks make all the choices for you, then it becomes a lottery.
