Customisation -Depending on your skill level you can do a little bit of customizing and Vectorworks or you can do a lot. By customizing your workspace you can improve your speed of drawing enormously, because you can make the hard-to-find tools easy to find.
Clip Viewport – You can use your clip tool to edit the crop of your viewports without having to enter the viewport. If your viewport does not have a crop object, Vectorworks will make one.
Editing Viewports – You can edit viewports by double clicking or by Right-clicking on the viewport.
Design Layer Viewports – Some people use Design Layer Viewports to help create the document sets. The reason they do this is because it allows them to look at a design layer and see pretty closely what the drawings going to look like.
Class Over-rides in Viewports – This is such an important technique. It allows you to create viewports that show quite different information by overriding the graphics you assigned to your classes on specific viewports.
Name Viewports – When you create viewports it’s important to name them. By default Vectorworks will give them a generic name.
