Creating your own dimension standard allows you to set up a dimension standard that suits your company. You might like longer lines, heavier lines and so on.
VectorWorks comes with several built in standards to choose from. You can change the dimension standard (the look and feel of the dimension).
Dimensions can be modified easily. To move the position of a dimension line, to change its location in relation to the drawing.
Angular dimensions are for dimensioning between two linear objects.
Circular dimensions are for dimensioning circles, arcs, and are based polylines.
There are two linear dimension tools, the Constrained Linear Dimension and the Unconstrained Linear Dimension tool. Constraint dimensions are for situations where you want the dimensions to be orthogonal on the screen. Unconstrained dimensions are where you want the dimensions to be on angle.
