I used this book Building Construction Illustrated when I was at college learning to be an Architect. It is well written and it clearly explains the basic concepts of building construction. I recently bought this book again, in Kindle form, so that I can have it with me whenever I need to access it. If you are starting out, or need a refresher, get this book.

  1. I also used this book in college. That was 40 years ago believe it or not. I have not looked at it in a while. Has it been updated in any way or has basic construction not changed in 40 years? We still “stick build” houses and lay bricks one brick at a time so maybe we have not advanced that much.
